When going through such an incredibly difficult time such as we are, one finds out what one is made of. What we have discovered...we are made of an incredible God that has never forsaken us and given us a peace which transcends all understanding, we are made of amazing family, friends, and community, we are a sum of all of these parts. We are not carrying this burden alone, we are truly blessed.

We have not had a lot of regular contact with many of you and I know there are many questions people have been wondering about. Please feel free to post any questions you might have here this also helps me to know what to include on this site.
I thought it would be fun to share stories/events/memories we have experienced with Neil. I know it would make Neil smile.
Keep it G Rated... as you know, this is a family site! (Kirk, Chris, Derrick and Brian)
Please join us for a memorial service in honor of Neil. Please park at Snyder/Sunset Park and enter through the back yard gate. It will be clearly marked and is across from the playground. Please reserve our driveway for immediate family. What Cancer Cannot Do Cancer is so limited ... It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot eat away at peace, It cannot destroy confidence, It cannot kill friendship, It cannot shut out memories, It cannot invade the soul, it cannot reduce eternal life, It cannot quench the spirit, It cannot lessen the power of the resurrection. July 2, 2008 (9:15pm) Neil continues to sleep peacefully at OHSU. While his breathing has become gradually more labored, the medications appear to be keeping him comfortable.
So many people have asked how they can help Neil and Karen Grant. They are in need of our support and prayers. In the past two weeks, Neil was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Karen and Neil are currently determining the direction of their treatment as we pray for his health.
In the meantime, there were action steps that we as a community could take at their home. This included a privacy fence around their property, completion of a master bathroom previously under construction, as well as a few items of landscape.
MAY 21, 2008 UPDATE:
Thank you are two words that don't even begin to express the depth of Neil and my gratitude for the incredible support we have received in so many ways. Support from family, friends, Countryside church and I know people that we are unaware of your involvement, even people that we have never met.
Neil, being the man that he is was concerned about how he was going to complete his projects when he first learned of the diagnosis in the hospital.
Your prayers, the completion of the projects and so much more has brought us such relief, comfort, and joy. We are so blessed to have the family, friends and community that we do. God has used you all in a mighty way!
